Ring Care
Jewellery Do’s and Don’ts
Congrats on receiving your new Exalina jewellery! As with all fine jewellery, it’s important to follow a few good practices to help keep it sparkling and looking its best during everyday wear. We’ve put together this guide to help you properly care for and clean your jewellery, so it retains its lustre and shine for years to come.
Do's
Take your jewellery off when sleeping, exercising, or doing strenuous activities.
We know you want to show off your new piece of jewellery all the time, but it’s important to keep it safe. Wearing your jewellery during activities such as sleeping or exercising increases the risk of accidental damage. Please be mindful when applying consistent or heavy pressure to your hands, as this may compromise the integrity of your precious jewellery.
Make sure to put your jewellery in a safe and memorable place!
Life moves fast, and so do you! That’s why you should make sure your jewellery is stored in a safe place. Keeping your jewellery in a velvet bag or a jewellery box will help keep it dry and away from unwanted chemicals that could negatively affect it.
Don'ts
Don’t expose your jewellery to harsh chemicals or household cleaners.
You can get our jewellery wet, but we recommend avoiding bleach, chlorine, hairspray, and other harsh chemicals. These substances can react negatively with the metals and may damage your jewellery.
Don’t use jewellery cleaner.
Jewellery cleaners or silver cleaners can damage your jewellery. Our ladies’ jewellery is rhodium plated to provide extra protection and lustre. Jewellery cleaners often contain harsh chemicals that can wear away the rhodium plating. Please follow our cleaning instructions to keep your rings looking like new.
Jewellery Cleaning Instructions and Wedding Ring Care
Want to clean your jewellery? It’s super simple.
We recommend using warm water and a mild dish soap. When cleaning our fine jewellery, avoid using very hot water or cleaners that contain harsh chemicals. Gently rub your jewellery with a damp cloth or use a soft-bristled toothbrush if your ring requires extra cleaning.
To clean your jewellery, mix half a teaspoon of mild dish soap with a cup of lukewarm water in a bowl. Place your jewellery in the solution and let it soak for 3–5 minutes. Remove the jewellery from the bowl and rinse with fresh water. Dry and gently polish it using a soft, non-chemical microfiber cloth.
When it comes to fine jewellery, keeping it looking its best for years to come requires regular care. To avoid damage from everyday wear and tear, inspect your ring regularly and remove it whenever you feel it may be exposed to potential damage. Generally, a gentle soak once a week is an excellent way to remove dirt and preserve the quality and lustre of the metal. After soaking, be sure to dry your ring with a soft towel to maintain its shine and sparkle.
